Valedictory program of Student Consumer Club was organised on 8th March, 2016 at Museum Theatre, Egmore. Sri S. Gopalakrishnan, IAS, Principal Secretary and Commissioner for Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection was the Chief Guest. Commissioner mentioned that as consumers, students should be aware and knowledgeable before making a purchase and they should never become victims of false claims and unsafe products.

Final Competition for all the first prize winners from 15 schools was held on 8th March, 2016 at Museum theatre where 111 students participated. (for both projects a team of 5 students competed). Following are the final prize winners :-

Mr.Gopalakrishanan,IAS congratulated the students who had participated in the competitions and gave away the prizes to winners of 4 competitions.

Participation certificates were given to all 2368 students Hundred and eighty students who won the school level first 3 prizes, were given appreciation certificates.

First 3 places prize winners of final competition held for all 20 schools were given appreciation certificates and a memento by the chief guest Sri. S. Gopalakrishnan, IAS.

Ten Ethiraj college students were trained as Master trainers and they in-turn went to schools and trained consumer club members.

Three staff from ASSIST, an NGO received master training from CAI on the topic “Personal hygiene and environmental protection” and they in-turn visited few schools for the awareness program. “Student Consumer Club- Hand Book” exclusively compiled by CAI for SCC students was distributed to all 2368 students, teachers and school heads.

The campaign was launched in December 2015 and ended in March 2016 and had reached 2368 students directly and through them to 11840 consumers. Around 98854 consumers were reached out through press and other media.
