Skoda is recalling over 500 units of its Octavia car in India to fix faulty child locks on the rear doors of the vehicle.

A total of 539 cars, made between November 2015 and April 2016 are being recalled to correct the problem with the manual locks. Skoda dealers will contact Octavia customers across India for a service appointment, the company said in a Statement.

“In case the locks need to be replaced under the service campaign, the process will conclude in 45 minutes and will be done at no cost to the customer,” it added. Over two million vehicles have been recalled by various automakers in India since the auto industry body SIAM started voluntary vehicle recalls for safety related issues in July 2012.
