M.Somasundaram, Liaison Officer ,CAI and Concert attended the quarterly Voluntary Consumer Organisations Grievance redressal meeting conducted by the MD, MTC at Pallavan house on 22.07.16 Representatives from Ten consumer organisations of Chennai, Kanchipuram and Tiruvallur districts participated . JMD, GMS, DMs and Depot incharges of MTC were attended. Following Points were taken up with MTC on behalf of CAI and Concert Trust;

1.Stagnation of water in few Bus Depots at Chennai causing commuters inconvenience to board and alight from the Bus. MTC assured to take up this issue early as it required time and fund .CAI insisted to do this work before onset of monsoon as was done at Vadapalani bus Depot.

2.MTC informed that they formed a committee to restrict the Advertisements in the Buses by adopting Drugs and Magic Remedies Act.

3.JMD and GM agreed to consider the plea of SDNB Vaishnav College for Girls, Chrompet to ply buses from Velachery via Baliah Garden to Chrompet

4.Ten demands given by Kilpauk Residents Welfare Association thro its PRO, Mr G.S Raghupathy was taken up for examining the demands by MTC and they have assured to reply .

5.MTC agreed to consider the plea of CAI to install First Aid Box in all buses,

6.Due to dearth of crew members numbering about 150, they could not run Buses and this will be set right in few weeks

7. Air Horn fixed in MTC buses are within the allowable limits

8.Regarding solving complaints, MTC authorities informed that appropriate action is being initiated against the erring crew and they are also periodically given refresher courses

9.MTC refuted the remarks made in certain News Papers

10.MTC agreed to fix Display boards at the entrances for the new Buses

11.Ventilator Roof Top for old buses could not be rectified by them for want of parts( Spring) and for the new buses , there is no hitch on this.
