Washington DC, February 2016: Airbags continue to haunt motor vehicle manufacturers. In the latest recall, Toyota Motor Engineering and Manufacturing is Toyota Land Cruiser, Lexus, Tundra, Sequoia and Runner vehicles to correct a possible problem with the side curtain-shield-airbags.

A total of 320,409 vehicles are being recalled.

The affected models are model year 2003-2006 Toyota Land Cruiser and Lexus LX470; 2005-2006 Toyota Tundra and Sequoia; and 2004-2006 Toyota 4Runner and Lexus GX470.

The company says that the air bag control modules in these vehicles may be improperly programmed, causing the side curtain-shield-airbags to deploy inadvertently, thus increasing the risk of occupant injury.
