The lack of a complete, detailed list of the Fixed Dose Combination (FDC) drugs banned by the Government has left pharmacists and doctors totally confused. The stay orders on the Government directive secured by various drug manufacturers have further clouded the issue.

Doctors are confused whether certain brands can be prescribed, and if prescribed, whether they will be available at pharmacies. Chemists are confused about the authority behind directives from companies regarding their products – can they be sold, or not?

Pharmacists are demanding that Government come out with a comprehensive list of the drugs that have been banned – both in regard to composition and company.

The Central Drug Standard Control Organization (CDSCO), meanwhile, is silent on the subject.
