The Ernakulam Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum has awarded a compensation of Rs. 1 lakh to a prospective passenger on Jet Airways who was unable to rejoin work in Dubai on time due to the actions of the Airline staff.

The complainant, Gokuldas, had a confirmed round-trip ticket between Abu Dhabi and Kochi. However, he submitted to the Forum that his boarding pass had been torn up by an Airline Supervisor, who informed him there were no seats on the flight he was booked on. Gokuldas further alleged that the supervisor took the action after speaking to someone over phone.

The Forum has ordered Jet Airways to pay Gokuldas the compensation amount within a month.
